Day 5 in Greece - 2023
A Lazy Day
I wake up at 08:30 and I don't go back to sleep this time. I'm determined to make today a day of rest and I'm successful as I bum around and watch The Crown.
Around 14:00 I decide that I want coffee, so I do leave the VRBO to walk to Alexandros for coffee. I decide to walk down the same street I had walked down the day prior because I wanted to retake my photograph of the house with the blue door. There is someone working on the burnt home as I walk by, cleaning out the rubble leftovers of possessions that once made up someones life.
I stop by the house with the blue door and spend several minutes trying to get my composition right. Once satisfied, I continue on and enter Alexandros.
The lady behind the counter wants me to try a new coffee, and I agree to do so. She makes me a double espresso cappuccino with a little sugar with chocolate. I am absolutely sold and love the drink.
I make a point to walk by the man who made me uncomfortable a day prior. He starts to walk toward me, but I keep walking as I politely greet him and tell him to have a nice day.
I get back to the apartment, enjoy my coffee, some more The Crown, and then start work. I watch the clock closely on the watch Jeremiah bought me for it to be 17:00 in Greece, or 08:00 back home in Colorado. I call him to wish him a good morning.
Remember how the whole point of coming to Greece was to try IVF? Well, I finally got my cycle. This is what we've been waiting for so that we can start the process. I email New Life Clinic and they promptly schedule an appointment for 11:00 the next day. It's officially time to start the process. I am nervous, scared, excited, happy, so many emotions at once. I wish Jeremy was with me.
