Hanging Lake is a geological phenomenon which graces the Glenwood Canyon of the Rocky Mountains. What was once a single lake is now split into two due to the fact that half of the lake fell several feet. The image shown here is the bottom half, the half that fell and is "hanging" off its original level. While Hanging Lake is no doubt a stunning sight to see, if you make the hike all the way up there, you must stop and see Spouting Rock too, the original upper half.
