Once upon a time in a land far, far away called Venezuela, I shot my very first maternity session. Jaqi, the mother being photographed, was barely showing at 7 months pregnant, we we got a bit creative in what we wanted to do to show off her teeny baby bump.
We took the photographs at this little private resort on the Northern coast of the country at a little place called Guakamaya. A lot of the huts were empty while we were there, so we took the liberty of using up different spaces to get different poses and looks. The weather on the coast was perfect for a photoshoot as well, with enough warmth mixed with an ocean breeze to stay at a perfect temperature the whole time.
The charm and atmosphere that these beach huts had to give made for beautiful, interesting backgrounds in each shot.
Keeping Jaqi's small bump in mind, we had to be strategic with her poses and hand placements to show that these were more than just personal portraits - she was carrying a child!
In the left image above, we had Jaqi arching her back up to push her belly out more, while cradling her precious bump with her hands to further accentuate it. In the right image above, as it was hard to tell there was a baby bump at all when she sat in a normal position, we had her tuck her dress to help accent the belly, with her making a heart with her hands to tell the viewer that love was growing inside of her.
In the images on the left above and below, we continued having her cradle her small bump, with the lifesaver behind her creating a nice frame within a frame, and a focal point for her head to lean towards.
Obviously, having your client gaze down lovingly at their growing belly is going to make it obvious to the viewer that there is more going on in the portrait than just a pretty client.

Photoshoots of 2019
Clients: Darrell and Anteria
This beautiful couple flew to Colorado from Michigan for a vacation and decided to get their engagement photos done while they were in the Centennial State!
They tied the knot on September 27, 2019 in Michigan. I wish them many, many years of happiness to come!
De'Edra bought her beautiful home early this year, and I had the blessing of going and taking photos of her home as it was being built. It was neat to see the whole process! She moved into her home in late spring.
Jovanna had a last minute senior portrait session earlier this year. She was such a trooper, posing in the cold weather, but looking so relaxed about it!
Clients: Logan and Jade
I am so happy I was able to photograph this lovely couple's engagement session! Their wedding is coming up next month on November 10! I am so excited!
Clients: Megan and Justin
This couple toughed out a 10 degree weather day for their engagement photos! I was seriously impressed with how well Megan handled the cold - especially since her hand had to be ungloved to show off her sparkly accessory!
Clients: Megan and Justin
Megan and Justin tied the knot on September 20, 2019! It was a beautiful wedding, and I am so happy I was able to be a part of it!
Clients: Brittney and Bradley
This gorgeous couple has one of the best venues booked I have seen so far in Colorado. Their engagement photos were shot last spring, and they will be tying the knot in a few weeks on November 2! I can't wait!
Clients: Kelly and Joey
I was able to photograph my friend Kelly's engagement photos to her beau, Joey, while I was vacationing back in Minnesconsin ;). I will be her MoH in her wedding next year!
This young lady had portraits done of her in her Quincineara gown with her celebrants!
Client: Nayan - Parents are Laura and Sanjeev
This young man was born last April. I was able to be a part of his mother's maternity portraits the previous autumn, and was lucky enough to also be selected to take his newborn pictures!
This young man will be graduating next spring! I just shot his senior portraits in September, and I was so excited that we were able to use graffiti as a background!
This young lady will also be graduating next spring! She was such a trooper walking all around James A Bible Park for her portraits, but she made leaning on trees look fashionable!
Client: Colgrove Family
And to wrap things up with what has been accomplished so far this year... I was able to photograph family portraits for Tisha and Gerry! Just look how cute their babies are!
Scheduled for 2019
November 2: The wedding of Brittney and Bradley
November 3: The wedding of David and Lacey
November 10: The wedding of Jade and Logan

Ahhhh... Valentine's Day. The day created to give us all the chance to tell our significant others how much they mean to us with boxes of chocolates, cards, teddy bears, or quite possibly an engagement.
Valentine's Day is all about the reds, the pinks, the gifts, the kisses, the hand-holding...
My significant other and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day all week this week. It sounds incredibly cute, I know, but in reality, we just did not want the hassle of going out on actual Valentine's Day.
On Monday we went out to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. It's where we went on our first big date. It's where we went to celebrate a year later. It's where we went when I got my new job. It's our place.
On Wednesday we went out to Olive Garden with Jeremy's family to celebrate the day of love. Jeremy's family rarely goes out to eat, so it's always a special occasion when we all go together.
Tonight I will get home, Jeremy and I will exchange cards (we agreed to not get each other gifts, but rather save up our money to buy a house hopefully this year), and we will sit down to watch a movie. I'm voting for When Harry Met Sally, as I have never seen it, but have been wanting to for quite a while. He hasn't cast a vote yet, so we will see what happens when I get home :)
Romantic comedy (or just romance) is one of my favorite genres of movies. I love love. I love the cheesy stories, I love realizing that I have my own cheesy love story, and I just love the happy, stupid feeling you get from watching those movies.
So... to celebrate Valentine's Day, here are some photos of couples I have shot throughout my years as a photographer, accompanied by some of my favorite romantic movie quotes (some are from novels)!
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return."
"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
"You had me at hello."
"You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how."
"It was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together... and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home... only to no home I'd ever known... I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like... magic."
"So it's not going to be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day."
"If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
Yesterday, Saturday, January 26, 2019, I had a senior portrait session with the beautiful high school senior, Jovanna!
Jovanna and her mom, Christina, found out about Imbeccable Images through a recommendation by Gerry and Tisha, wonderful clients of mine, on the Nextdoor App! Thank you, Gerry and Tisha!!
I have been wanting to do a session in Golden, Colorado for a while now, and was so excited when Jovanna and her family agreed to have her senior pictures taken there! Golden offers that diversity in backgrounds for portraits in a short distance - the Clear Creek Trail for nature shots, and then the cute downtown area for more urban shots.
I would definitely recommend Golden to any photographer looking for gorgeous, outdoor backdrops for pictures.
Jovanna, I sincerely hope that you are enjoying your photographs on your personalized web page. For the rest of you, here is a sneak peek!

On Sunday, January 6, 2019, I shot my first session of the year: An engagement session for the stunning couple, Ria and Darrell from Michigan!
Anteria reached out to me on The Knot and had scheduled their session with me. Ria told me that she wanted mountains in her background, so of course I advised that we take the portraits at Chautauqua Park in Boulder!
They were such a fun couple to photograph. They posed so naturally that they needed little direction.
And oh... that beautiful diamond! Seriously stunning <3
I just love the fact that they agreed to do a session at this park. Such a romantic moment with the flat irons right behind them!
But that's all I'm going to share with you on here. To see more, keep an eye on my Instagram feed!
